New appointment system

We’ve improved our appointment system.

Since the 11th April, all appointments with a GP at Leacroft can be requested though our website at any time without you having to queue on the phone line at 8am. This will enable us to increase our capacity and allow us to triage appointments more effectively.

Using our website is quick and easy and means no long queues on the phone. You can use it at any time of day or night and we will review all requests on the same day if they are submitted before 2pm.

If you cannot use our website, you can still phone or visit us and our team will help you by taking the necessary details and filling out the form for you to ensure that everyone is treated equally and fairly.

FAQs

How do I book an appointment?

If you have access to the internet on a phone or computer, please go to www.leacroft.co.uk and click the Appointments section and then “Get Help for Any Health Problem.” You will be asked some information about your problem and how you would like us to deal with it. This information will help us respond to you in the most appropriate way and that you prefer.

What if I don’t have access to the internet or cannot use the internet?

If you cannot use the internet for any reason, please call us – we will enter your details into our website for you. This may take longer than our previous system, so please be patient and only call if you cannot use our website. The same process will apply if you come into the surgery and ask at Reception.

Why are you changing this?

Since the start of Covid we have been unable to pre-book appointments with GPs and this means that all patients requesting an appointment have to call at 8am. This is stressful for patients, and can mean that we are not always able to see the people that need us most. By putting all requests into one system we can review all requests and prioritise the people that need help urgently. We can help our patients in an appropriate way depending on what their request is, at a time and in a way that they prefer.

How will this work for me?

After you send your appointment request on our website, if it is submitted before 12pm our doctors will review it on the same day and let you know the outcome as soon as they can. Requests submitted after 2pm will still be monitored by our team but if they are not medically urgent they will be responded to by the end of the next working day.

They may be able to help you without booking an appointment, or they may be able to help you on the phone or via video. If you need to be seen face to face, they will let you know the time and who you will see, taking into account your preferences and availability.

If you have further questions please ask a member of the reception team.
