Making an Appointment
To make an appointment please call the surgery on: 01293 574747 and select from the following options:
Option 1 to make an appointment
The Practice schedules a third of appointments “on the day”. This system reduces the period patients have to wait to see a doctor. It also reduces the number of appointments wasted due to patients not turning up for a pre-arranged appointment. A further third of appointments are prebooked up to a week in advance, either online or by telephoning the surgery. A final third of appointments are booked by clinicians to ensure that all patient needs are met.
If your need is urgent for the same day, then we will do our best to ensure that your problem is dealt with in the most appropriate way and as quickly as possible.
Consultations are by appointment only and can be made by telephoning the clinician for a GP appointment.
The practice operates a daily Triage service. We provide this service to ensure patient needs are addressed as and when required without necessarily waiting to see a doctor or nurse. Of course, if the health professional and patient agree the need for a doctor consultation, the appropriate arrangements are made for the patient to see and/or have contact with a doctor.
Option 2 for test results between the hours of 2:30-6:30pm
Between these hours we can attend queries regarding test results.
Please be advised that test results are highly confidential pieces of information. For this reason we reserve the right to refuse disclosure for those querying another person's results without their written permission to do so.
Option 3 for prescription information
Option 4 to speak to a medical secretary
This option is for queries related to medical referrals.
Please be advised that our medical secretaries are not involved in the booking of on site doctor and nurse appointments.
Hold the line to speak to an administrator
This is the most appropriate course of action for all other queries.
Please do not ask for an urgent appointment unless it is really necessary. Patients with urgent needs are usually telephoned by the Triage health professional in the first instance.
Unable to Attend
If for any reason you are unable to attend please cancel your appointment so that it can be made available to others. Any appointments which are cancelled in under an hour of the appointment time will be classed as a DNA (did not attend) and you may be sent a letter.
Disabled Access to the Surgery
Wheelchair and disabled access together with appropriate toilet facilities and a lift are available at the surgery.
